This is probably one of the rarest early British made Creel by Harry Lewis Platt of London, He applied in 1889 for an idea to improve a fishing Creel with a design which introduced a tray with fitted lid set into the top for purpose of carrying lunch or refreshments. A PATENT No.14135 was issued but he failed to complete the necessary documentary procedure and the Patent was abandoned. So here it is the very rare mentioned creel, a museum piece and a great collector iitem, I’d rate this rarer than the first model Hardy Bros Creels. This Creel even still has the original leather straps, with the food tray and Brass makers plaque PATENT 14135 stamp. The earliest piece of this tackle in good original colour complete condition, having the brass locking clasp a great collectors show piece. The only other one I’ve ever seen never had NO leather straps, so this could be the only complete rarest First invention.. approx 18” wide 11” in height.
