Rare SOWERBUTTS OF LONDON “ AVON “ Rod

This rod is in excellent condition, probably unused, a rare find made by SOWERBUTTS OF LONDON, retro vintage brown hollow fibre, beautifully made with intermediate silk whippings, quality chromed rings whipped in red/black Jasper silk with red agatine lined top and bottom rings, full length cork handle with traditional sliding alloy reel fittings, a classic 10ft MKIV style named the AVON rod inscriptions in white Indian ink, the taper of the rod and is more of a Stepped up Avon allowing it to fish for larger fish, carp, barbel etc. with original cloth bag also in excellent condition. These rods don’t turn up very often, Sowerbutts a highly regarded fishing tackle maker/ retailer of its time.
