This is an exceptional high quality hand built rod by The Barder Rod Company, a Limited Edition rod No.2 of only 6 made celebrating 30 years of Collaboration with Chris Yates, The MERLIN a Classic Avon 11ft 3” 1 1/4 lbs Test Curve, this is an exclusive design three piece having TITANIUM sliding reel bands & butt cap engraved with makers details. Built in 2020 , the concept for this rod began in 2016 and was carefully designed and developed to this exquisite finished collector’s piece. Built from the chosen cane giving an hexagonal cane throughout- the butt and middle sections are fluted hollow-built construction with a solid built tip giving a crisp progressive action. The rod is inscribed in Indian ink with the model number 2 and the 30TH Anniversary . Having clear Agate lined butt & tip rings, whipped in translucent bottle green Pearsalls silk with Gossamer Antique Gold full intermediate whippings. 24” Onion shaped highest grade cork handle. An impeccable finish with the best yacht varnish. Rod with traditional green labelled cloth bag, and an engraved lidded cap alloy protective carrying case. Having turned olivewood stoppers to the classic acorn shape. Complete with signed certificate booklet with informative details.
