Rare Antique “THE TWEED” Salmon Fly Reel by Forrest of Kelso

A scarce Salmon Reel by Forrest of Kelso made most definitely by Walter Dingley ex Hardy Bros Master reel maker after 1911, a 4” diameter with twin Ivorine handles, drum release catch with brass tensioner and on/off ratchet push buttons on the side rim, the reel as described in Forrest of Kelso catalogue as shown in pics was made for Salmon fly fishing and also as a casting/spinning reel with superior components, also a quality spool with a pillared drum core, not dissimilar to the Highly sought after Hardy Bros St .George Salmon Fly Reel but with the added extra of a casting reel. A superbly designed and hand built reel made from the finest brass and tempered steel components , never to be equalled. Complete with stamps “ THE TWEED” FORREST & SONS MAKERS KELSO” A superb quality and highly collectible and usable reel.
